International Workshop on Intelligence, Soft Computing and the Web (ISCW '03)
HOME ISDA 2003 CALL FOR PAPERS ORGANIZERS PROGRAM

Welcome to the international workshop on Intelligence, Soft computing and  the Web (ISCW) '03 at the the third International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications (ISDA) 2003 to be held from 10-13 August 2003 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.

The guiding principle of soft computing is: Exploit the tolerance for
imprecision, uncertainty, partial truth, and approximation to achieve
tractability, robustness and low solution cost. - Lotfi Zadeh, 1991

Currently the main techniques of soft computing (SC) are fuzzy logic (FL), neural computing (NC), genetic programming (GP) and probabilistic reasoning (PR). These techniques have been used separately as well as in interesting hybrids to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and intelligence of many systems.

This workshop is concerned about ways in which soft computing techniques can enhance the current usage of the web. Another main issue being considered is how (or whether??) soft computing techniques can contribute to more intelligent use of the web.
